Law of Justice
False Reports:
Exodus 23:1-2, 7
1 Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.
2 Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to
decline after many to wrest judgment:
7 Keep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous slay thou not: for I will not justify the wicked.
Judge not on Countenance:
Exodus 23:3, 6
3 Neither shalt thou countenance a poor man in his cause.
6 Thou shalt not wrest the judgment of thy poor in his cause.
Enemy Justice:
Exodus 23:4-5
4 If thou meet thine enemy’s ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again.
5 If thou see the ass of him that hateth thee lying under his burden, and wouldest forbear to
help him, thou shalt surely help with him.
Bribery:
Exodus 23:8
8 And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and perverteth the words of the righteous.
Law of Witnesses
Deuteronomy 19:15-21
15 One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that
he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall
the matter be established.
16 If a false witness rise up against any man to testify against him that which is wrong;
17 Then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before YHWH, before the priests
and the judges, which shall be in those days;
18 And the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, and
hath testified falsely against his brother;
19 Then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shalt thou
put the evil away from among you.
20 And those which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such
evil among you.
21 And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth,
hand for hand, foot for foot.
