Law of Uncleanness

Dead Carcasses:
  1. Whoever touches the carcass of a unclean animal is unclean. (Lev.11:24-28)
  2. Whoever touches the carcass of any creeping thing is unclean. (Lev.11:31)
  3. Any vessel, garment, skin, or sack touched by a dead carcass is unclean. (Lev.11:32)
  4. Earthen vessels touched by a dead carcass must be broken. (Lev.11:33)
  5. Vessels of wood touched by a dead carcass must be washed. (Lev.11:32)
  6. All meat in a unclean vessel shall be unclean. (Lev.11:34)
  7. Ovens and ranges for pots touched by a dead carcass shall be broken down. (Lev.11:35)
  8. Fountains and pits with plenty of water where there is a dead carcass shall be clean. (Lev.11:36)
  9. Parts of the water that touches the dead carcass shall be unclean. (Lev.11:36)
  10. Whoever touches a clean animal which dies of itself is unclean. (Lev.11:39)
  11. He that eats of a dead carcass (unknowingly) shall be unclean until the even. (Lev.11:40)





Childbirth:
  1. A woman who bares a boy child shall be unclean seven days. (Lev.12:2)
  2. On the eight day the boy shall be circumcised. (Gen.17:12, Lev.12:3)
  3. Woman must continue her blood purification thirty-three days of a boy. (Lev.12:4)
  4. A woman who bares a girl child shall be unclean fourteen days. (Lev.12:5)
  5. Woman must continue her blood purification sixty-six days. (Lev.12:5)
  6. After her purification, woman must bring offering to the priest. (Lev.12:6-8)


Plagues:
  1. Diagnosis of leprosy. (Lev.13:1-3, 7-15, 18-22, 24-27, 35-36, 42-44)
  2. Diagnosis of scabs. (Lev.13:4-6)
  3. Diagnosis of boils. (Lev.13:16-17, 23, 28)
  4. Diagnosis of scall in the hair. (Lev.13:29-37)
  5. Diagnosis of freckles. (Lev.13:38-39)
  6. Diagnosis of baldness. (Lev.13:40-41)
  7. Separation of lepers. (Lev.13:45-46)

Bodily Discharges:
  1. Running issues from man. (Lev.15:1-12)

Law of Uncleanness Notes:


Diagnosing Lepers: 
Leviticus 13
  1. When the plague of leprosy is in a man he shall be brought to the priest. (v.9)
  2. If the priest see that the rising is white with white hair and quick raw flesh in the rising, he is must be shut up. (v.10-11)
  3. If the plague breaks out and covers the whole body, it is clean leprosy. (v.13)
  4. If raw flesh appears in him he is unclean. (v.14)
  5. The priest shall look on the raw flesh and pronounce him unclean. (v.15)
  6. If the raw flesh turns white he shall come again unto the priest. (v.16)
  7. The priest shall look and if the flesh is turned white, he shall be clean. (v.17)


Law for Lepers:
  1. He shall rend his clothes (a sign of mourning). (v.45)
  2. He shall shave all the hair upon his head.
  3. He shall put a covering on his upper lip (a cloth).
  4. He shall cry "Unclean, unclean", when he comes near other people. 
  5. He shall be pronounced unclean all the days of his plague. (v.46)
  6. He must be separated all the days of his plague. 


Woman's Menstrual Cycle:
Leviticus 15
  1. A woman which has an issue of blood must be separated seven days. (v.19)
  2. Whoever touches her shall be unclean until the even. 
  3. Everything she lies on shall be unclean. (v.20)
  4. Everything she sits on shall be unclean.
  5. Whoever touches her bed shall wash his clothes, bathe, and be unclean until the even. (v.21)
  6. Whoever touches anything she sat on shall wash his clothes, bathe, and be unclean until the even. (v.22)
  7. If a man lies with her (her separation be not known) he shall be unclean until the even. (v.24)
  8. If the woman's menstrual cycle continues beyond seven days, she shall remain unclean. (v.25)
  9. Every bed she lies on in her continuation shall be unclean. (v.26)
  10. Everything she sits on in her continuation shall be unclean. 
  11. Whoever touches anything she lies or sits on shall wash his clothes, bathe, and be unclean until the even. (v.27)
  12. If her issue is healed, then she shall number to herself seven days, after that she shall be clean. (v.28)
  13. On the eighth day she shall take two young pigeons or turtledoves and bring them to the priest. (v.29)
  14. The priest shall offer one for a burnt offering and one for a sin offering. (v.30)
